Adolescence is a difficult time in life. There are constantly changes happening emotionally, in the body, with peer relationships, familial relationships, and self-concept. Together, we can help your child develop into becoming a healthy adult.
It's never easy to take the first step of starting therapy for your child. There are various reasons that people choose therapy. Do they say that they feel like no one understands them? Have they been getting in trouble at school? Have they had difficulties controlling their emotions? Has there been a recent life change? Have they displayed anxious behaviors or said that they feel overwhelmed?
I am here to work as a team with you, the parent/caregiver(s), in helping your child grow.
Having children participate in counseling can help them identify coping skills to help regulate their emotions. They can practice conflict resolution to find healthier ways of handling difficult situations. During counseling, we can process peer situations that regularly occur in Middle School and High School. Self-exploration that occurs during counseling will help children understand who they are and increase their self-esteem and confidence.
